A game designer, nurse practitioner, and their son Judah
Josh has spent his career designing games; creating experiences built for laughter, competition, and connection. He understands play on a professional level: what makes mechanics work, what loses engagement, and how great design turns strangers into friends.
Jessica is a medical professional who has seen people at their lowest physical and emotional points. She’s spent her life observing and studying how the human body and mind work, how they’re connected, and what we can do about it.
None of that knowledge prepared them for an afternoon playing a board game with Judah and watching him disappear under the table a few minutes in.
Too busy. Too unpredictable. Too many rules he hadn't written and a story he didn't care about.
"I've designed games for a living. The hardest design problem I've ever worked on was figuring out how to have fun playing and connecting with my own kid."
So, Josh started making toys and games just for playing with Judah. Custom trivia built around Judah’s interests. Story games with no wrong answers. Flexible play structures that felt safe yet open-ended. One by one, he found what worked and Judah began enjoying game night.
Through play, Josh and Jessica connect with their son and help him find a place of calm.

EverySpark Village is the result of play and caring for the whole child, now packaged into kits for families who need them. Each combines Josh’s play-first design thinking with Jessica’s whole-body clinical approach, targeting the challenging moments neurodiverse families face, while respecting the child’s dignity and celebrating their autonomy.

I remember feeling so lost and having no idea how to proceed when we first got Judah’s autism diagnosis. I hope this kit helps your family find stability we didn’t have in the early days.
How can this help?
The Day One Kit has the first things we designed, tried, and a few we wished we would have had in hindsight.
It includes things to help with calming, get routines on track, set a foundation for good parenting, and - most importantly - connect through play.

The Afterschool Cool Down Kit
When I started to understand masking and what my son goes through in a day at school, I started really understanding what was happening when he returned home.
How can this help?
The Afterschool Cool Down kit is a game designer's approach to environment: build the right space once, and it does the work every day.
Your child can't play with you and can't connect with anyone if they're still white-knuckling the transition from school.
This kit is about creating the decompression window that makes everything after 3pm possible, including the good stuff.

The Family Fun Night Kit
Normal toys and games weren’t always helping us connect with our son. We’re redesigning game night from the ground up: formats that keep us on the same team, play structured around what Judah knows, and a room set up for his nervous system. It works.
How can this help?
The Family Fun Night Kit grew directly out of my experiments playing with Judah and making games just for him.
When game night always ends in a meltdown - this kit removes the triggers. We win and lose together, no pressure to perform or compete. Just play that's designed to help Judah shine and our family to create bonds.
